‘A QUEEN’S HEART’ SERIES
PART ONE – THE ANCIENT REALM
Five years have passed since Avalind and Mussa faced the Hag, Sannaeoth, in her lair. Both have suffered the consequences of that encounter, for they share horrifying, prophetic dreams. Now they dream of a fabulous city, in a blessed realm, torn apart in blood and fire by a merciless invader with weapons beyond their imagination.
Avalind knows that those brutal forces will soon be unleashed on her own people. Mussa wonders what else they inherited.
‘The Ancient Realm’ is the first part of David Waine’s ‘A Queen’s Heart’ trilogy, the sequel to ‘A King’s Head’.
PART TWO – THE SHATTERED REALMS
Beginning where ‘The Ancient Realm’ left off, Krimmin has fallen to the invading forces of Morgonnun and Mussa is stranded there. Meanwhile Avalind is aware that those same forces will soon be unleashed against the Kingdom and the Black Death has broken out in Graan…
‘The Shattered Realms’ is the second part of the trilogy, ‘A Queen’s Heart’.
PART THREE – THE POWER OF FOUR QUEENS
Three of the four free realms have fallen to the dread march of the Lord of Morgonnun and his invincible army. Only the Kingdom, led by Avalind, stands in his way, and her forces are hopelessly outmatched. Yet a faint hope lingers. Mussa has survived, albeit hunted by his men. Larussi and Song, aided by the thief, Tammas, have escaped the ruins of Kurial and found the boy’s long-lost sister, Strella.
All is set for an epic showdown that will determine the fate of everyone for all time. Should the Lord win, he will devour the living hearts of all four queens and make himself immortal as well as invincible.
‘The Power of Four Queens’ is the concluding episode of the trilogy, ‘A Queen’s Heart’.
APPENDIX 1 – LARUSSI
‘Larussi is the appendix to ‘A Queen’s Heart’. Although the overall story arc of the trilogy is brought to a conclusion in the final instalment, one thread is left hanging. Larussi Samossin is the young girl who escapes from the tyranny of Morgonnun’s dark lord, Darank, by the skin of her teeth, only to run straight into yet more horror and bloodshed when his reputedly invincible forces invade Dragotar.
There she finds her first love in the person of the young thief, Tammas. At the climax, however, she is left completely alone, having lost everything and everyone.
The action moves on five years. Now eighteen, Larussi is a postulant with the Sisters of Mercy, a Dragotar religious order.
Larussi completes her tale. It is a complete story in its own right.
